Treatment of 31 cases of distal clavicle fracture and acromioclavicular joint dislocation with clavicular hook plate

Abstract

Objective To evaluate the curative effects of clavicular hook plate in the treatment of dislocation of acromioclavicular joint and fracture of distal clavicle.Methods Clinical data of 31 patients with Tossy III acromioclavicular joint dislocation or Neer Ⅱ distal clavicle fractures treated with clavicular hook plate from March 2005 to June 2008 were retrospectively analyzed.Results All the 31 patients were cured.The function of the acromioclavicular joint recovered after two weeks.The X-ray films showed that the acromioclavicular joint space recovered quickly.All the patients were followed up for 3 months to 2 years and no obviously complication was observed.Twenty-three cases were good and 8 cases were fine by the evaluated by Lazzcano standard.Conclusions Clavicular hook plate is a good choice for the treatment of acromioclavicular joint dislocation and distal clavicular fracture with the principal advantages of being in line with the request of vitodynamics,reliable fixation,early rehabilitation and less complication.
