Abstract

e15604 Background: Sarcomatoid metastatic renal cell carcinoma and RCC Fuhrman grade IV represents an aggressive subset of disease, but a definitive therapeutic strategy in this cases still remain questionable. We seek to define outcomes associated with its therapy with special attention to diagnostic ambiguities and their impact on therapeutic decisions. Methods: The analyzed cohort consisted of patients with ccRCC diagnosed/treated at MIM from Jan 2007 to Jan 2014. Baseline clinical features, detailed radiologic and histologic reports were collected. Patients with mRCC either with sarcomatoid features and/or with Fuhrman grade IV disease were followed. Outcome was assessed by a dedicated radiologist for determination of tumor response, PFS and OS. Survival was estimated with the Kaplan-Meier method, and associations with survival outcome were analyzed with univariable and multivariable Cox regression analyses.
