Abstract

The lack of exteriorization of the menstrual flow after menarche causes cryptomenorrhea and blood accumulation in the vagina causes hematocolpus. The imaging diagnosis for hematosalpinx or hematometra, associated or not to hematocolpus has great importance. The test must be extended for other organs, especially of the urinary tract, for the research of associated malformations. The transperineal ultrassound must be taken in consideration for the differencial diagnosis for primary amenorrhea, when the access through the vagina is not possible.
