Abstract

A treatment approach for a young child evidencing developmental verbal apraxia is described and progress reported. Results substantiate early intervention and the use of an augmentative system to facilitate oral expression. The effectiveness of systematic work on oral expression through small, achievable steps is pointed out as are techniques for making the entire family an integral part of the treatment team.
