Abstract

Copper sulfate is a commonly used chemical for control of algal blooms in reservoirs. Because of its costliness, it is recommended that the algicide be applied early in the growing season before the algae become thick. Several methods of copper sulfate application are described, and monitoring of algae progress and the importance of various genera and species to food and life chains are also covered.
