Abstract

In this work, we construct traversable wormholes using a logarithmic shape function in the general theory of relativity (GTR) and Lyra geometry (LG). We observe that the gravitational fluid violates the null energy condition (NEC) in GTR whereas all the energy conditions (ECs) are satisfied in LG. The violation of NEC indicates the requirement of exotic matter in GTR for the construction of traversable wormhole whereas LG supports non-exotic matter for the same purpose. We analyze the stability of the wormholes using the Causality and Herrera’s cracking method and found that the obtained wormhole solution in the LG is stable.
