Abstract

Accurate fault location becomes an important guarantee for fast troubleshooting and improving power supply reliability in distribution power system. Travelling wave location method is widely used for locating fault position. However, it is difficult to extract effective traveling wave signal in distribution network interference environment. A traveling wave signal processing method based on fruit fly optimization algorithm (FOA) and stochastic resonance (SR) is proposed. Firstly, multiple traveling wave signals at different locations are sampled and collected as a single-phase grounding short-circuit fault occurs, secondly, the method of the adaptive stochastic resonance is used to deal with the traveling wave signal based on fruit fly optimization algorithm, lastly, a traveling wave signal with a high signal-to-noise ratio is obtained. Simulations verifies that the proposed method can effectively improve the signal-to-noise ratio of the traveling wave signal under strong noise interference, and facilitates the accurate detection of the fault characteristic information contained in the traveling wave signal.
