Abstract

We investigate a coupled logistic lattice system with complete unidirectional coupling. A new type of spatial-temporal intermittency, we term it travelling chaos wave, appears when the coupling strength is in a suitable range, and the annihilation of two chaos waves is observed. The chaotic motion in the spatial-temporal intermittency is `logistic' in term of first-return maps and first-order variability diagrams [1]. The driver of the lattices (the first element) is investigated particularly. Its logistic parameter is important for the chaos wave to propagate.
