Abstract

Unilateral facet dislocation without fracture of the lumbosacral spine is a rare injury. A review of the literature reveals only 15 cases, of which 11 actually included no or undisplaced fractures of the involved facets.2–5,7–9,14 We describe a case of unilateral dislocation of a lumbosacral facet, discuss the literature, and explain the rationale for treatment.
