Abstract

The Brazilian beef industry is often affected by distinct diseases. Traumatic reticulopericarditis is a disease characterized by perforation of the reticulum and pericardium due to the presence of foreign perforating bodies present in the feed, cattle subjected to ingestion in stables being often affected. The change in diet, such as higher consumption of concentrates, is another factor that contributes to the emergence of diseases such as ruminal acidosis. A female bovine donor, gyrolando breed, housed at the Center for Biotechnology in Animal Reproduction (Biotec) was diagnosed with traumatic reticulopericarditis and ruminal acidosis.
