Abstract
This paper reports on the thinking of a multi-professional national group promoting trauma-informed working in Intellectual Disability services, in which the Faculty is collaborating. The paper explains the need to take account of trauma and attachment difficulties in clinical and social care services, and the need to promote trauma-informed approaches. A simple acronym, SECURED, is proposed as an aide-memoire for professionals to apply in their work.
