Abstract

Black Fungus Midges from Natural Caverns of the Harz Mountains, Germany (Insecta, Diptera, Sciaridae). A new sciarid species of the C. fulvicollis-group from natural caverns of the Harz mountains is described: Corynoptera subcamptochaetaMOHRIG, spec. nov., 14 specimens of this rather widespread species were found in four caverns. So far, species status and distribution of C. spoeckeri (LDF.) have been poorly understood (MENZEL et al. 1990, p. 389). Therefore it is redescribed and figured in detail. This species of the C. forcipata-group was found in one cavern only.
