Abstract
Traumatic aneurysms account for 14–39% of all pediatric aneurysms [1]. Most are located on distal anterior or middle cerebral arteries (MCA) or branches. They are rare on the internal carotid artery (ICA) and even more rare on the supraclinoid portion of the ICA [2–5, 22]. Because of the high mortality and morbidity of traumatic aneurysms, early diagnosis and treatment are recommended [3, 6, 7]. We describe the first reported pediatric case of traumatic pseudoaneurysm of the supraclinoid ICA to be successfully treated with high-flow bypass followed by aneurysm trapping.
