Abstract

Calculations of potentials for light impurities in simple metals are extended to investigate qualitatively the change in the energy profiles produced by substitutional impurities. Various possible trends for different electronic densities of pure hosts are discussed. The effect of substitutional impurities on muons and protons in Al and Cu is studied in detail.
