Abstract
Free transverse vibration of axisymmetric annular sandwich plates of linearly varying thickness is considered in this paper. The face sheets are treated as membranes; the core is assumed to be inextensible in the thickness direction, and to carry only transverse shear. The contribution of the face sheet membrane forces (by virtue of their slopes) to the transverse shear is accounted for in this analysis. Numerical results are presented for the first three normal modes of vibration.
