Abstract
We define a class of degenerate elliptic operators of second order, for which it is possible to calculate the Green kernel and the heat kernel. The exact formula for the Green kernel can be used to study the points where the operator is analytic hypoelliptic or to study the Gevrey regularity. The heat kernel is always analytic for positive time.
