Abstract
We report vortex dynamic correlation measurements in the mixed state of the high temperature superconductor YBa2Cu3O7. The in-plane and out-of-plane vortex velocity correlation is determined by applying non-uniform currents to the vortex structure. These currents apply non-uniform forces to the vortex system providing a tool to detect transversal and longitudinal vortex rigidity. The in-plane vortex-vortex drag is studied with a force configuration that drives the vortices in orbital motion around a central point. In the solid phase the vortex solid can rotate as a rigid body with a macroscopic correlation as large as 104 vortex spacing. At large temperatures a shear-induced breakdown of the coherent motion is observed.
