Transposition of the superior mesenteric artery associated with a left renal vein venous patch in the nutcracker syndrome: Experience of 11 cases in Angers

Abstract

The nutcracker syndrome (NS) is a rare diagnosis, and its treatment remains discussed. It results from the compression of the left renal vein (LRV) between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery (SMA). It is often at the origin of a pelvic congestion syndrome with chronic abdominal pain. We report the results of an original surgical technique for the correction of this venous entrapment.
