Abstract
We present the results of the first transient and steady-state photoconductivity measurements on self-supporting (19 μm thick) porous silicon (PS) sample. The value of the free-carrier photogeneration quantum efficiency (η) is discussed together with the mobility-lifetime product, deduced from transient (μDτD) and steady-state photocurrent (μτ)ss. Surprisingly (μτ)ss ⪡ (μDτD). From very similar spectral dependence and the magnitude of the steady-state photocurrents measured in the sandwich and coplanar geometries, we conclude that the “tissue” controlled transport in PS is almost isotropic.
