Abstract

Charge transport processes through stacked monolayers of stearic acid deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett technique were examined as a function of the number of layers. It is shown that for a single monolayer tunneling processes dominate, whereas for more than eleven layers bulk transport is observed. The transition between these two limiting cases was examined, and evidence for injection-limited transport was observed.
