Abstract

Abstract— Following intraocular injection of [3H]leucine, microtubular protein was isolated by two different methods from the optic pathway of the rabbit. It was found that most of this protein was transported at a slow rate in the axons of retinal ganglion cells. After arrival at the nerve terminals in the lateral geniculate body, the microtubular protein decayed with a half‐life of 9 days.
