Abstract

The paper proposes the nanotube tree which can efficiently transfer the liquid mass or/and the heat by the pressure driven flow. This nanotube tree is equivalent to a straight cylindrical tube with a significantly large radius when the number of the branches and the number of the branch levels of the tree are respectively sufficiently large. In the pressure driven flow, the mass flow rate through the main trunk tube of the tree can be great and this can carry a great amount of flowing media and heat. The nanotube tree can be used to very efficiently collect the flowing media and heat through extensively spreading nanotubes on its end. The working principles and design guides for this nanotube tree are presented.
