Abstract
This paper presents an experimental research about flows of water-glass beads mixtures in horizontal and vertical pipes. The influence of particles physical parameters (size, granulometry, shape) on pressure losses, velocity profiles, spacial distribution of the solids and flow regime appearance is studied. We developed non intrusive measuring techniques, like ultrasonic and laser velocimetry, light absorption to get to certain parameters (spacial concentration distribution, particle and fluid local velocities). The results are analysed with the idea of a modelisation of solid-liquid mixture flows.
