Abstract
In the last decades, huge amount of scholarly research on Turkey’s disrupted politics, the AKP and the expansion of state sponsored institutions in diasporic countries has remained a legitimate focus. The perception of a democratizing process or becoming disrupted in Turkey after the coup attempt, only reinforced the idea of an existing plan of a pre-coup democratization in Turkey. This article takes a slightly different approach to existing literature which demonstrates that the Turkish foreign policy are instruments opportunistically employed in the Justice and Development Party, (AKP) who aim to conquer the state and its citizens both at home and abroad to take it from a Kemalist elite and become an Erdoganist authoritarian rule. Since the rise of the AKP, we have witnessed large expansions of institutional policies as well as other state-sponsored mechanisms such as DITIB and Diyanet globally, linking home states and its diaspora beyond the traditional arena.
