Abstract

The joint tactical information distribution system (JTIDS) provides jam-resistant digital communication of data and voice for command and control, relative positioning and identification. Many advanced technologies are adopted in JTIDS, such as frequency hopping, M-ary spread spectrum, error detection and correction. In order to deeply understand the concept and functions of tactical data links (TDL), it is necessary to thoroughly analyze the transmission performance of JTIDS. In this paper, the link performances are evaluated by theoretical analysis and simulation according to the disclosed specifications of JTIDS. For obtaining the performance, we divided the transmission model into inner and outer channel and gave their relationship as well as error characteristics
