Abstract

Energy saving glasses (ESG) are used in large building to provide less-load on the heating and cooling systems, saving a considerable amount of energy. But these glasses have a drawback of blocking the low frequencies(0 to 1.5GHz), creating problem in communication systems (GSM, 3G, GPS etc). In this paper, a novel FSS structure is proposed, to be used in ESG panels to solve the communication problem. The proposed FSS consists of two dimensional array of square patches, each patch containing circular ring slot. FSS is simulated using ANSOFT® Designer software. The simulated result, shows that, proposed FSS passes 0 to 1.5GHz, which can solve the communication problem.
