Abstract

In previous work the authors have studied acoustic transmission through orthotropic multilayered plates under oblique plane wave excitation. In this paper an extension of this work to the case of reverberant sound excitation is reported. In order to compute the mean transmission loss over the wave incidence angles an analytical method has been adopted, rather than the classical double integral calculation which is very cumbersome. The influences of layering, damping, and orthotropy are discussed. A comparison between theoretical and experimental results is presented.
