Abstract
1. 1. The visceral ganglion of Elliptio complanatus contains non-specific esterases localized in granules (0·5-2 μ in diameter) in neural and glial cells. 2. 2. Acetylcholinesterase is not present in the ganglion. 3. 3. Extracts of the posterior adductor muscle contain both acetylcholinesterase and non-specific esterase.
