Abstract

The structural analysis of novel organic-inorganic hybrid film containing an organic emissive material was performed by using cross-sectional transmission electron microscope (TEM). The organic-inorganic hybrid film consisting of ultraviolet (UV)-curable silsesquioxanes (SQs) and an organic emissive material was fabricated by an UV curing method. Moreover, energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (EDS) was performed to evaluate the distribution of the organic emissive material in the hybrid film. The cross-sectional TEM image showed that the fabricated hybrid film consisted of a single layer. EDS observation clearly indicated that slightly inhomogeneous distributions of MEH-PPV were found near the interface between Al layer and the hybrid film, meaning that the sealing effect of the organic emissive material becomes stronger against to the oxidation and moisture.
