Abstract

We numerically studied the effect of birefringence dispersion on transmission characteristics of rocking filters with multiple resonances. A special focus was on microstructured fibers with unusual birefringence dispersion profiles. We also analyzed the influence of structural parameters on the rocking filters’ characteristics, including the direction of twist of successive segments, apodization of twist angle, variation of the length of the central segment and random variations of twist angle and segment length arising in the fabrication process.
