Abstract
Thermocrystals is a new type of artificial periodic structure that controls the transfer of heat. In this letter, a multiple lattice constants supercrystal structure is proposed, and a known narrow thermal spectral material is used to achieve a broad coverage between bandgap frequencies and thermal phonon frequencies. Simulation results show that the super-thermocrystals can reduce the thermal conductivity of the material by as much as 60%. Besides, we designed the thermocrystal waveguide with a linear defect two-dimensional structure to control the heat flow. The simulation results show that most of the heat flow is confined to the linear defect waveguide.
