Abstract

Abstract The major glycoprotein and two minor glycoproteins are labeled with the lactoperoxidase system on the outside in both intact normal human erythrocytes and resealed erythrocyte membrane vesicles. These same proteins are also labeled when lactoperoxidase is sealed inside the resealed erythrocyte membrane vesicles. It is concluded that all three glycoproteins penetrate the membrane of the normal human erythrocyte.
