Abstract
This chapter covers the recent literature dealing with the synthesis of both natural products and drugs bearing a chiral sulfoxide moiety. In particular, stereoselective sulfoxidation methods with chiral metal catalysts are described. For the different target molecules, a brief discussion of the pharmacological properties is given, and for selected examples, a typical experimental procedure for the synthesis and isolation is reported.
