Abstract

Tremendous progress has been made toward ending AIDS. In 2021, 85% of people living with HIV knew their status, 88% of whom were on treatment and 92% of those on treatment were virally suppressed compared with only 70%, 77%, and 82% 5 years earlier.1,2 Despite this progress, gaps remain in policy and health care that hamper further success and that could even reverse previous gains. One such gap is the transition of young people living with HIV to adult care. This area remains understudied, despite the implications it can have for HIV control.
