Abstract

The Eliashberg equations for an anisotropic superconductor containing Kondo impurities are approximated analytically using the square well model for the electron-phonon interaction. Anisotropy is incorporated via a separable model and the impurities are treated within the Matsuura, Ichinose, and Nagaoka (MIN) formalism. Explicit expressions for the reduction of the superconducting transition temperature are obtained. The derived formulas are generalizations of the MIN results to include both anisotropy and weak electron-phonon coupling effects.
