Abstract

Non-relativistic many-electron calculations (using the experimental wavelengths) have yielded accurate transition probabilities for Mg- and Zn-like resonance lines of Mo which are of considerable importance to current plasma and fusion related research. These values are ( in s −1): Mo 30+, 3 s3 p 1 P o → 3 s 2 1 S: A = 5.5 × 10 10, Mo 12+ 4 s4 p 1P o → 4 s 2 1 S: A = 2.42 × 10 10 . As a by product of these computations, approximate wavelengths and oscillator strengths to doubly excited states have been obtained for the Mo 12+ system.
