Abstract

Abstract Bis chelates (ML2), [M = Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) or Pt(II)] with the thiol are forms of propiophenone or butyrophenone thiosemicarbazones (L) have been synthesised and characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic moments, and i.r., electronic and electron spin resonance spectral studies. The Co(II) and Cu (II) complexes are paramagnetic and have square planar geometries. The Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt (II) complexes are diamagnetic and square planar. Pyridine adducts (ML2.2Py) of the Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes have also been prepared and characterized.
