Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the progress and map out the anomalies associated in process transition from Aviation Information Service (AIS) to Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) in Thailand. The AIS is provided in Thailand by Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) and is responsible for transition from AIS to AIM in accordance with standard regulations and roadmap provided by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). This research contributes to gauge the status quo and explore the challenges to the current pertaining. It is an exploratory and qualitative research in which triangulation method has been incorporated for data collection. The results are arrived by analysis of secondary data obtained from CAAT and also in depth interview has been conducted with officers of CAAT to obtain the result.The study result found that CAAT has already implemented 3 out of 8 critical processes in transition from AIS to AIM. However the implementation of remaining 5 major processes is in doldrums for which challenges and possible solutions are mapped out.
