Abstract

The transition between the rationally and irrationally related modes of vibration in time average holography has been studied in detail. It is shown that by a slight detuning of one of the two rationally related frequencies and a proper choice of exposure time, the superposition behaves as an irrational case. This would enable easier analysis or the separation of the individual modes. Experimental results as well as numerical analysis are presented.
