Abstract

Being precursor of glycine (NH2CH2COOH)—the simplest amino acid, the methanimine (CH2NH) in gas phase is of great importance for spectroscopists and astronomers both. Using accurate rate coefficients for collisional transitions between 15 lower rotational levels of methanimine, we have performed Sobolev large velocity gradient analysis and have discussed about weak MASER action of 110−111 transition of methanimine. We have done analytical analysis also for understanding the MASER action of 110−111 transition of methanimine. It is found that contribution of collisional transitions is less significant as compared to that of radiative ones.
