Abstract
In view of the transient voltage control of the line-commutated converter (LCC)-based high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system receiving end vicinity after HVDC blocking fault, this paper proposes a transient voltage control strategy considering the wind farm supporting capacity. Firstly, the transient voltage stability margin and transient off-grid margin are defined to evaluate the transient voltage stability of receiving end AC grid. Secondly, the dynamic reactive power supporting capacity of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind farm is analyzed and the coordination method of Var devices in wind farm is proposed. Finally, a transient voltage control strategy based on sensitivity analysis is designed to coordinate the dynamic reactive power output between wind farms. Simulation results are shown with a modified IEEE Nordic Test System, which validates the effectiveness and superiority of the newly proposed strategy.
