Abstract

Power system stability has been a critical study topic in recent years, and it is a critical concern for large-scale systems. The transient stability of a long transmission system (PSS) may be greatly improved by the management of excitation systems, which commonly comprises an automatic voltage regulator (AVR), a power system stabilizer (PSS) and Governor. The paper deals with the topic of improving transient stability and voltage regulation in a power system that hosts renewable energy sources, which have been of great interest since the beginning times of the interconnected power systems. The static VAR compensator device was used among the FACTS devices, the best answer to a variety of technical issues with the power system’s functioning. The paper aims to enhance the stability of the power system via automated voltage regulator (AVR), power system stabilizer (PSS), Governor and SVC-controller. The static VAR compensator (SVC) in NORDIC32-Bus power system is connected with high penetration of renewable energy sources (RES). DIgSILENT PowerFactory software was used in power system simulation and in dynamic simulation.
