Abstract

With the increase of China's long-distance transmission plans, the half-wavelength transmission line has received widespread attention again due to its unique economic and technological advantages. Because of its structural specificity, the transient stability characteristics of half-wavelength transmission line is affected not only by the length of the line, the type of fault and the duration of the fault, but also by the type of the tuned network and so on. In this paper, the simulation model of two-machine system with half-wavelength transmission line is established by MATLAB/Simulink. Then, the transient stability characteristics of the half-wavelength transmission system are studied and analyzed in combination with the factors of tuned network type, line length and fault type. It is initially concluded that the closer the actual line length is to the half-wavelength, the better the transient stability of the system. The effects of various factors on the transient stability of the half-wavelength system are quantitatively analyzed by comparing the parameters such as fault duration, voltage oscillation range, oscillation amplitude and duration. At last the simulation analysis of the transient characteristics of the half-wavelength line in this paper provides a reference for the construction of the future half-wavelength line.
