Abstract

The transient spectra in graphite, following a pulse of fast neutrons is calculated by solving numerically the time and energy-dependent Boltzmann equation. The asymptotic spectra is compared with fundamental mode eigenfunction and the existence of a discrete resolvable eigenvalue is discussed. All our conclusions on the behaviour of the time decay constants are based on using Parks' model for graphite and multigroup diffusion theory.
