Abstract

In this paper, transient security assessment is formulated as a two-class classification problem of pattern recognition. The fundamental elements of pattern recognition are described. Features obtained from the physical understanding of the transient phenomena are used here to represent the operating states (samples). The results reported here are encouraging and show that the pragmatic approach introduced. In this paper is very valuable for on-line transient security assessment by pattern recognition techniques.
