Abstract

The time varying flow through a pipe is analyzed. Separation velocity profiles obtained under the influence of periodic pressure fluctuations were evaluated. These velocity profiles are compared with relaxed and unrelaxed separation concepts. It is found that a one parameter correlation is too limited to cover all possivle separation cases. In particular, the unsteady unrelaxed separation extends over a relatively wide range of velocity distributions.
