Transient photoconductivity studies in a-Si :H

Abstract

Using a modification of normal multiple trapping theory we show how to obtain the complete photoconductivity decay from the steady state in amorphous semiconductors; we give explicit results for well defined cases and discuss their application to a-Si :H. We ascribe the slower decay in doped n-type samples to increased electron reemission from the band tail.
