Abstract

In current essay, expedition in freezing of PCM (water) has been scrutinized with involving Y-shaped fins and nano-powders. CuO nano-sized particles have been dispersed within water with involving correlation as function of volume fraction and shape factor. The fins were joined to cold inner surface and appearance of such device can enhance the conduction. With ignoring the buoyancy impact, two equations remain in present model and the solutions of them were obtained via Galerkin approach. This method was verified with comparing the output with prior paper and grid of this technique has various patterns during the freezing which means that finer grid exist for ice front region. With applying nanoparticles, the freezing time can be decreased about 10.21%. Besides, changing the shape factor to greater value leads to reduction of time around 4.93%.
