Abstract

Transient erythroblastopenia is a common occurrence. It can be recognized only through the performance of reticulocyte counts in anemic patients. Transient erythroblastopenia of childhood is a benign, self-limited disorder. Appreciation of its clinical and laboratory findings can enable the physician to provide needed reassurance to parents and reduce the need for unnecessary diagnostic procedures and ill-advised therapy.
