Abstract

This paper deals with an important topic of thecontemporary textual linguistics and its associations on ArabicSyntax. It tries to rid the theoretical discourse of the textuallinguistics of its condemnation of the linguistic heritage. Thepaper focuses first on transgression for being a pivotal issue inwhich the textual linguistics established its two mostimportant theoretical approaches, namely (transgression of thesentence limits). The study, then, deals with the Arabian reactionfacing these two approaches. The re-action started atthe hands of Dr. Ahmad Mohammad Abdul-Radhi in his bookTowards the Text: between Originality and Modernism, wherehe argues that Arabic syntax should be the syntax of speechrather than the sentence, through a view which aims at givingsyntax its due of importance and in this concern he is againstthe label of transgression.
